Biography
Ruben Doda is a London-based composer and multi-instrumentalist from Italy. He first trained in piano, saxophone and guitar, performing in rock bands and studying Popular Music at Sonus Factory in Rome (University of Chichester), where he graduated with honours in 2019. During this time he worked as a freelance composer and producer, writing music for singer-songwriters and short films.
He pursued classical composition studies at the Licinio Refice Conservatoire in Frosinone under the tutelage of Luca Salvadori, graduating cum laude in 2024, and studied conducting with Fabrizio Ventura. Based in London since 2025, he is currently completing his Master of Music in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music with Philip Cashian and David Sawer, while studying conducting with Dominic Grier.
His music has been performed internationally. He composed music for the play Ippolito, directed by Michele Suozzo and premiered at Teatro Palladium in Rome in January 2023. His theatre piece Antigone was performed by PHACE Ensemble at the Vienna Contemporary Composers Festival in July 2023. His work Laudes Creaturarum has been published by Gangemi Editions in 2026. His piece for cello and piano The Forge, inspired by Goya’s painting, will be premiered at The Frick Collection in New York on 16 April 2026.
